In early September, I discovered huitlacoche (more commonly known as “corn smut”) growing on some of our popcorn plants. This is enjoyed as a delicacy in many South American cultures. We harvested the huitlacoche and cooked it up with some onions, garlic, potatoes, and peppers (also grown in our garden). Three out of the four Chillis gave it a try. It turned out pretty tasty (I thought so, anyway)!
