Garden clean-up met mixed-media art as we created a beautiful "nature loom" with the dried stalks of our sunflower house, old vines, twigs, feathery grasses, and fading flowers.
During the last few weeks of November, we continued the work of tidying up the garden, spreading compost, loading and turning the compost tumbler, saving seeds, and enhancing our nature loom (as well as leaping over the pile of compost, pelting each other with green tomatoes, and playing “hot tomato” with the same). Then, before we knew it, it was time for the garden -- and gardeners -- to rest for the winter.
